Alex Grey – Chapel of Sacred Mirrors (Cosm) Documentary
This is a documentary/movie about one of my favorite artists ever. He’s also the one who made the fantastic artwork for many Tool releases. Watching this is really a must. I’ve uploaded the movie and the extra parts.I found myself really trancing out when watching this movie, you also learn some very intresting things.
“Filmmaker Nick Krasnic does a fine job of allowing Grey’s narration, as he explains the concepts and inspirations behind each piece, to be the focus of each scene…Watching CoSM is a meditation not only on art viewing but also on an artist who believes in unlimited human potential.” – Trinie Dalton, Amazon.com“CoSM The Movie has the information that you can’t find on the web, information from the creator’s heart and soul. I have visited The Chapel of Sacred Mirrors, but to fans of Grey’s who have not, this is the next best thing. The film gives Grey a forum to detail his works. Avoiding a simple overdub of a description while the camera focuses on the painting, the film allows Grey to be delicate and patient with his explanations… The film goes in and out and sometimes follows the linear patterns of his works which put me into a trance like state. I felt transcended. I felt enlightened. I felt like Grey was working in my skull. I felt like I was in the rooms and trapped in the depths of his showcase. The documentary is easily the best learning experience I have sat through since college.”- C. Dempsey, Cinephilia.com”The sheer visual impact of the pieces, the colors, the size, and the intricate detail is immediately arresting… The closest that someone outside of New York City will get to experiencing Alex Grey’s Sacred Mirrors art as it is meant to be seen.” – Ross Johnson
